Course overview

The University’s 4Cs Learning Framework and seven Generic Intended Learning Outcomes (GILOs) represent the attributes of ideal EdUHK graduates and their expected qualities respectively. Learning outcomes work coherently at the University (GILOs), programme (Programme Intended Learning Outcomes) and course (Course Intended Learning Outcomes) levels to achieve the goal of nurturing participants with important attributes embodied in the 4Cs.

The 4Cs are:
-        Character and moral responsibility
-        Competence and professional excellence
-        Cultivation of wisdom and intellectual engagement
-        Civic-mindedness & social responsibility

The seven GILOs are:
1. Problem Solving Skills
2. Critical Thinking Skills
3. Creative Thinking Skills
4a. Oral Communication Skills
4b. Written Communication Skills
5. Social Interaction Skills
6. Ethical Decision Making
7. Global Perspectives


1.     Synopsis
This course will explore different resources and strategies to continue developing a sustainable e-Learning environment in school for a key learning area at both short term and long term, such as school-based planning, project funding, project management, teachers’ professional development activities, and learning resources deployment. The course provides participants with conceptual and practical experience in developing a feasible e-Learning development plan and proposal for funding an e-Learning project to be implemented at school upon the completion of the course. Relevant planning and project management models will be introduced as the guiding framework to develop school-based e-Learning plan and project proposal. Participants will be engaged in intellectual learning design and interactive discussions throughout the study. The aim is to stimulate sustainable ideas for future learning and teaching demands with digital environment at schools.


2.     Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs)
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
CILO1 :
recognize the common pedagogical goals of e-Learning in school education;
CILO2 :
analyze the feasibility and sustainability of implementing learner-centered paradigm of learning and teaching in an e-Learning environment;
CILO3 :
develop a sustainable blueprint of school-based e-Learning implementation in long term for a subject;
CILO4 :
write a feasible e-Learning project proposal for external funding; and
CILO5 :
evaluate the potential opportunities and pitfalls in developing a school-based e-Learning plan and a project proposal.
